Latest UK Salon Data

The following findings have been made from recent Consumer Data regarding habits of UK salon customers.
Salon market is down 8% whilst home hair dressing is up 5%. 50% of men now have their hair done at home!
Visits becoming fewer from 6.41 down to 5.97 per year.
Women starting motherhood, family managers and lower income earners leaving the salon the most.
24-34 year olds the biggest spenders at £34 per visit on average. 18-34 year olds still having colour treatments. Older and younger women in decline. Retail home colouring has not increased as might have been expected. Still overall growth in permanent colour services.
Unbelievably 76% of women have never bought a retail product in a salon!!!!
For 2010 big opportunity to promote to men on convenience and single mums and lower income people with promotions. As always there remains a massive opportunity in retailing.
